Drosera adelae
Drosera adelae, also known as the Lance Leaf Sundew, is a tropical carnivorous plant with long, narrow green leaves covered in sticky, dew-like tentacles that trap small insects. It grows naturally in humid rainforest conditions and adapts well to terrariums with very high humidity. This plant has a moderate difficulty level and is best suited for growers who can maintain stable conditions.
Terrarium (Emersed) Care
-
Substrate: Use a nutrient-poor carnivorous plant mix (sphagnum peat + sand/perlite). Do not use aqua soil or fertilized substrates.
-
Humidity: 70–95%, ideal for closed terrariums
-
Light: Bright indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun
-
Water: Keep substrate constantly moist using RO, rain, or distilled water only
-
Temperature: 20–28°C
Avoid fertilizers and mineral-rich water, as Drosera roots are sensitive. With proper humidity and lighting, it may produce small pink flowers.
